The Sofara Executive Director hosts a focus group with after school, enrichment, and parent group parents from CSDs 4, 5, and 6. Their constant “finger on the pulse” of community parents desires and requests, and their willingness to share that feedback with Sofara, was invaluable in molding programming. The Sofara team was in District 4 over the MLK weekend. Our mini Health Fair was a fun shake up! We shook our way to home made ice cream. Yum Yum!! We could name the three ingredients in our ice cream. Children got up and moved to groovin’ music and relaxed body and mind with mini yoga sessions.
Sofara International and STEMKids NYC gathered the Ode to Joy Tech student engineered “Get Well” cards and distributed them at Harlem Hospital with a wagon haul of gifts. It was our pleasure to be able to interact with the children and families in Districts 5 and 6.

Their new knowledge was then transferred to engineer get well cards and toys with these same circuits for the children at Harlem Hospital.
