Every aspect of Sofara International’s design is built around enhancing academic rigor through an authentic, inquiry based learning model where teachers are facilitators for students’ monitoring their personal growth as they work on real world skills and tasks, to include hands-on Applied Learning.
Our young Ambassadors build a strong sense of self to be able to then know their place in their community and their place in our global society. They will be engaged in their learning through a blend of resources including hands on projects, real world involvement, and the use of the environment of our international city as their classroom in order to further develop skills, knowledge and understandings. Students will be able to access their school and teachers from home and in the field.
As graduates, our students will have a unique skill set that will separate them from all others and enable them to be successful in Middle School, High School, college, career and real life.
Ils disposeront de cours audiovisuels et pourront l’utiliser à bon escient sur des sujets tel que, leur propre environnement et modèle mondial ainsi que le mode de vie des villes internationales dans leur propre salle de classe afin de développer davantage de compétences, connaissances, compréhension et pratique réelle.
À la fin de leur temps d’étude, ils seront diplômés et auront acquis un ensemble de compétences uniques qui les séparera de tous les autres et leur permettra de mieux réussir au collège et ensuite dans leur carrière professionnelle et vie réelle

Quality Support
Sofara International Charter School will not discriminate, but will strive to work with all students in need using best practices that are research based. Skilled teachers who are qualified in their licensed areas, have a deep knowledge of their teaching level, and understand child development will guide the students through their personal stages of academic, intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Each classroom will have the benefit of a Lead Academic Teacher and an Academic Intervention Teacher. The Academic Intervention Teacher will be part of a flexible programming effort that enables these teachers to have targeted areas of expertise that meet student needs. SICS will also provide a wide array of support through the utilization of community and professional partnerships. Every area of instruction and support will be guided by student need in meeting and exceeding the IB and NYS Learning Standards. Both set of standards mirror one another in mission, expectations, and standards for creating depth of knowledge.
Les enseignants qualifiés qui sont qualifiés dans leurs zones de desserte, ont une connaissance approfondie de leur niveau de l’enseignement, comprennant le développement des enfants ce qui guidera les étudiants dans leurs stades de croissance personnels académique, intellectuel, social et affectif. Chaque classe aura l’avantage à la fois d’un professeur principal et un professeur d’intervention académique. Le Maître d’intervention académique fera partie d’un effort de programmation flexible qui permet à ces enseignants d’avoir des zones d’expertise ciblés qui répondent aux besoins des étudiants. SICS fournira également un large éventail de soutien à travers l’utilisation de la communauté et des partenariats professionnels. Ce sera mis en œuvre pour toutes les matières. Tous les domaines de l’instruction et de soutien seront guidés par les besoins des étudiants pour répondre aux normes de l’IB et NYS tronc commun d’apprentissage (CCLS). Le continuum IB et le miroir du CCLS sont entre autre dans la mission, les attentes et normes pour la création des connaissances approfondies.
Learning
Sofara International Charter School will compliment inquiry work with direct instruction in math and reading through Singapore Math and Core Knowledge Language Arts. These classes will be provided on a daily basis. Students will also have access to a daily applied learning class that extends the imagination by asking students to represent their understandings through research and model building. The arts, physical education, and health & nutrition are strong standard parts of the curriculum.
Every content subject is fused in the learning process with a method termed “transdisciplinary” learning so that no teaching is done as an isolated subject. This allows for the deeper exploration of ideas and content from multiple perspectives.
Community
Through offering the International Baccalaureate continuum of programs, SICS and its students will be engaging all sectors of their community and have a very multi-cultural, multi-ethnic student body of varying aptitudes, educational success levels, and language backgrounds. With such diversity, our students will naturally learn cultural sensitivities.
